Last weekend we stopped for lunch at Spirit Cafe in Constantia Village, where I had the most amazing Vegan Buddha Bowl – literally the best I have ever had!!!

Luncheon Munchin’ at the Spirit Café
Spirit Café is a cozy little Vegetarian café located in Constantia. The V on their menu indicates the Vegan options. There are two V’s on the breakfast list, one V on the lunch menu, and nine V’s on the smoothie list. We were there for lunch so I had one choice – a Buddha Bowl. Easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had the extreme pleasure of eating.
Spirit Café
We are a home-away-from-home space, serving food that tastes amazing and is also super-good for you.

Lip Smackin’ Smoothie
We ordered a large Berry Beautiful vegan smoothie. It was berry, berry beautiful, if I say so myself. And so delicious. The menu list the ingredients as banana, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, filtered water, coconut oil, dates, and Himalayan salt. It was such a creamy, delicious smoothie that we bought strawberries later that day to try make our own at home (their version wins hands down, every time). And don’t forget the glass straws…

Vegan Buddha Bowl
The Vegan Buddha Bowl is amazing. Their menu says that it’s a mix of grains, greens, kimchi, slaw and avo. But, it is so much more. Every single item was exquisite. I made quite a few mmm…’s throughout the entire meal, and couldn’t stop singing it’s praises. Their beetroot was definitely not from a bottle, and was surely made with love, or something close to it. The kimchi was divine. The greens were terrific. It was just a match made in someplace wonderful. It may seem like I am being a bit over the top, but it has to be known just how good the Vegan Buddha Bowl was.

And For Dessert
The counter in the cafe boasts some delicious looking desserts and, of course, I wanted whatever was vegan. So it goes without saying that we took some Vegan brownies home, to enjoy with tea later, and as such, tea time was shortly after getting home, and I couldn’t help but gobble my brownie up, and my boyfriend’s. It was delicious – a creamy, chocolaty top with a crumbly base. Technically speaking, not what I would call a brownie, but definitely amazing.
