be.bare
Be.bare is a South African based small business with a big heart! 💚 They believe in being held accountable for the environmental and ethical impact of their products, which includes the ingredients as well as the packaging.
They have created a range of shampoo and conditioner bars that are natural, vegan, cruelty free, plastic free, and made without water. They also sell locally made bamboo soap dishes to be used with their bars, to extend their lifespan.
BWC approved
Be. Bare bars are BWC approved, which means that they have been audited by BWC and have proven they do not test their products on animals by passing the BWC criteria.
Why go bare?
Be. Bare’s bars do not contain any water as an ingredient, whereas plastic shampoo and conditioners contain up to 90% water. The idea behind a bar is that you will use it in the shower with water so there is no need to add water, which is a precious resource we must not waste. Without added water a product can be solid, smaller and plastic-free.
Every day approximately 8 million pieces of plastic pollution find their way into our oceans. 12 million tonnes of plastic are poured into the ocean every year. … 100,000 marine mammals and turtles and 1 million sea birds are killed by marine plastic pollution annually.
Surfers against sewage
Be.bare solid bars are packaged in FSC certified paper that is printed with veggie-based inks. The small paper box is the exact size to fit a bar, so there is no unnecessary packaging used. After use the biodegradable box can be composted or recycled.

After you have wet your hair, wet the bar. Then rub the bar over your hair under running water. Then lather into hair, and rinse out when done.
Be.Bare recommend that their bars are allowed to dry on a soap dish with drainage between use. They recommend the bars are kept away from spraying water while not in use and suggest to keep the bars separate to prevent them from sticking together.
