C Fruit sells packs of frozen berries, which makes it a quick and easy way to master your morning smoothie routine.
amazing frozen berries
At the first ever Vegan Lifestyle Festival in Africa (see post here), we went a bit nuts at the C Fruit stall and bought 5 x 1kg bags of frozen berries: strawberries, gooseberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, all for R300. We even got 2 tubs of fresh blackberries for free. They were so delicious that we made smoothies as soon as we got home.
A 1kg bag of frozen berries is a lot, and will easily last us months. It has made it so easy to quickly whip up smoothies whenever we feel like one. The packs of gooseberries, blackberries, and strawberries contain loose berries, whereas the raspberries and blueberries are frozen together in big chunks, which I have to break into smaller chunks before adding to the Nutribullet.
Adding frozen fruit to smoothies is a great way to give it that nice thick texture. If you would like to see some of my smoothie recipes have a look here. New recipes posted regularly.
